We are hosting a benefit dinner for medical relief for Haitians at our home on Saturday, January 30, beginning at 6pm.
Our dinner will raise funds for Partners in Health, a Boston-based organization with a 20-year presence in Haiti. We wish to support PIH because they have existing hospitals and clinics set up throughout Haiti, and they will continue to provide medical care to Haitians long after this crisis has subsided. Over 90% of all aid money PIH receives is spent on program delivery, which is astoundingly high for such organizations. Find out more about their relief efforts in Haiti at www.standwithhaiti.org. If you can’t make it to our dinner, please consider making a donation via their website.
We are donating all the food and our time to prepare a Mediterranean feast. We also plan to donate $100 to the cause and are requesting that attendees donate $40-60 (or more). Our goal is to raise $1000. If you have energy to contribute, and/or you don’t have cash to spare, we can use help with childcare, cooking, and music!
Please RSVP as we can only accommodate 20 guests (a comfortable amount for our home). Let us know if you are omnivorous or vegetarian. This is a kid-friendly event (kids under 16 free)!
